Kenalog steroid keloid

I am 51 years old and during Christmas 2014 I started getting little blister like spots all over my legs ankles and feet. Doctors gave me several medications and creams but nothing worked. Finally a doctor diagnosed me with lichen planus and I am currently waiting to see a skin specialist. All my life I have grown up never getting spots so I was really worried when these started popping up and to say they are painful is an understatement. My job as a school cleaner means I am on my feet all the time and the bottom of my feet are very painful. Just recently the top of my right foot swelled up to twice its size due to an infection through my scratching which has now caused cellulitis . It is nice to know I am not alone with this condition but it has taken over my life.

I started on 5mg, then 10mg the following week, then 15mg each week after. Until I visit the dermos again I don't know if the dose will change. I take it on a Friday in the morning, then 5mg folic acid every day except Fridays. Feel ok all day Friday and feel ok Saturday too. Feel like absolute rubbish on Sunday's, as if I have the flu coming. Ache all over and feel wiped out and have to have a little lye down half way through the day. It's really inconvenient! Monday is ok. I don't get any sickness feeling or any other major side effects that you read about on forums etc. (So far anyway, touch wood!) I read that people who have bad nausea it might be better on injections rather than tablets.

Another keloid scar removal treatment is surgery. This is the most expensive type of treatment, and with any surgery, there are a few risks, such as infection at the surgery site. The treatment for keloids by surgery is less sought after because it isn’t always beneficial and may even cause another keloid to present itself, or make the current keloid even larger if it comes back after surgery. You may be offered the choice of having radiation done after the surgery to further the benefits, or your surgeon may inject the site with steroids.
